Entrance Fees to Be Waived at Zion National Park for Veterans Day Weekend, November 10 to 12

This year, Veteran’s Day will again be celebrated as part of a fee-free weekend for all park visitors at National Park Service sites across the country. Zion National Park will offer free visitor admission in honor of U.S. veterans, active members of the U.S. armed forces and their families on Friday, November 10 to 12, 2012.

This Veteran’s Day weekend, Zion National Park Foundation is hosting “In the Footsteps of Thomas Moran” Plein Air Artist Invitational. The public is encouraged to come out and meet the 25 invited artists and watch them paint. Artists will be painting at the Zion Lodge on Saturday, 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm, and on the back porch at the Zion Human History Museum on Sunday, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Their art will be on display at the Zion Human History Museum, the Zion Nature Center, and the LaFave Gallery in Springdale. There is also a silent auction at the Zion Lodge on Saturday at 11:00 am and a live auction at the same location at 2:30 pm. All proceeds support Zion National Park’s education and arts programs.

The fee waiver applies to entrance fees only. Fees for commercial vehicles, tunnel escorts, camping, and wilderness permits will not be waived.
