If you’ve ever had the chance to take a drive through Springdale, Utah, or the nearby towns of Virgin, Hurricane, or even St. George, you know that there are no shortage of places to stay while visiting Zion National Park. Lush gardens fill its grounds, which border the Virgin River and the towering cliffs of Zion. Unique decor and a variety of room options make for a comfortable stay for every type of traveler.

But is our Zion hotel the right choice for your stay? Keep reading to learn what you need to consider when choosing where to stay in Zion National Park.

How Far is the Entrance to Zion National Park?

When deciding where to stay in Zion National Park, one of the most important factors is proximity to the park’s entrance.

Choosing a Zion hotel close to the entrance allows you to maximize your time in the park and minimize travel time. Some accommodations—including Cliffrose Lodge—are even within walking distance of the park’s entrance, giving you the advantage of starting your adventures early in the morning when the trails are less crowded and the lighting is ideal for photography.

If you don’t want to walk to the entrance to the park, you can also hop on the Springdale Shuttle. There is a stop for the shuttle just a short walk to the front of the Cliffrose Lodge property. This will take you to the entrance of Zion, where you can hop off, pay to enter or show your park pass, and then hop on the Zion Canyon Shuttle. This shuttle bus will take you to the most popular trailheads and overlooks in Zion’s Lower Canyon.

Spent 3 nights at the Cliffrose. Very pleased with everything, the staff were friendly, the grounds clean and pretty, the room spacious and comfortable, and the location super close to the park. We had dinner one night at the restaurant and enjoyed delicious food with great service. We highly recommend the Cliffrose!” -Jenn Nichols (Review via Google)

“Located just a few minutes outside of Zion National Park, The Cliffrose was a perfect location for our days exploring the park. We stayed in a very spacious two-bedroom, two bathroom suite. It was well appointed with a beautiful view of the mountains. We really enjoyed the jacuzzi by the main pool after a long hike of The Narrows. A few deer wandered around as we enjoyed the jacuzzi. All of the staff we encountered at the Front Desk were very welcoming and helpful. The food and service in the restaurant were also very good. We didn’t want to leave, and we’ll definitely put The Cliffrose on top of the list next time we visit Zions.” -Paul Kenney (Review via Google)
