Snow Canyon

Located just over 50 miles and a 1-hour drive Southwest of Zion National Park and just outside of St. George, Utah is another amazing area known as Snow Canyon State Park. This amazing formation is carved out of the native red and white sandstone of Southwest Utah along with random portions of petrified flows of black lava rock from nearby extinct volcanoes.  Because this park is much smaller than Zion it is even easier to get in and out of.  Hiking is one of the most popular activities in Snow Canyon but there are also some great bike paths for road and leisure riding, and some great routes for climbing and rappelling.  If you love landscape photography you will not be disappointed with a day trip to this great park.
