Cliffrose Lodge Activities: 5 Things To Do Near Here
Before reading any further, understand that when you stay at the Cliffrose Lodge, there are dozens, maybe even hundreds of specific activities at your disposal considering that Zion National Park is our neighbor. This list is by no means exhaustive. It simply highlights a few of the main Cliffrose Lodge activities that tourists engage in every year.
Hiking
This one is probably obvious as it’s typically the main reason people come to Zion National Park. There are so many varieties of hikes to select from that Zion could easily be considered one of the best hiking locations in the world. The sheer number of hikes coupled with how disparate they are, from 10 minutes won’t-even-break-a-sweat trails to whole day up-there-with-the-hardest-hikes-you’ve-ever-done trails. It doesn’t matter what age you are and it certainly doesn’t matter what previous hiking experience you have. Zion has the perfect hike for everyone. There are hundreds of hikes that are outside the Park but still around Springdale, such as in St. George, Kanarraville, and other neighboring cities.
Biking
All sorts of biking trails exist in and around Springdale. Single track paved roads, slick rock, you name it; it’s here. Whatever scenic backdrop you prefer, you’ve got your pick; desert, forest, mountains, cliffs, and more. There are a number of particular areas that are favorites among return visitors. The Zion Canyon Scenic Road is surely one of the most popular biking routes, as well as Kolob Terrace Road and Gooseberry Mesa. If you want a leisurely bike route or a strenuous one, you’ve certainly got options.
Canyoneering
For those who don’t know what canyoneering is, by definition, “traveling in canyons using a variety of techniques that may include other outdoor activities such as walking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, rappelling, and swimming.” Around the Cliffrose Lodge are prime canyoneering locations. And if you’ve never done anything like this before, there are multiple adventure outfitting companies in Springdale who can provide you the proper gear as well as guide you through. Again, you don’t need to be an expert to do this. Beginners and experts have their own places to go.
River Tubing
Tubing down the Virgin River is a total blast! And what’s even better is that when you stay at the Cliffrose, you have direct access to the river right on the property, steps from your room. This is a drastically underutilized activity in the area. Get tubes from one of the adventure outfitting companies in Springdale and float away! This is a perfect family or couple activity that you will always remember. Nothing too dramatic; the Virgin River is a very low key river compared to others you might be associating with river rafting. We’re not talking about river rafting here, just tubing. It’s a leisurely and relaxing activity that everyone in your group will love!
Golfing
Sand Hollow Resort is one of the best golf courses in the US, and certainly one of the best (if not the best) in Southern Utah. Not even an hour’s drive from the Cliffrose and you’re there. The scenery you’ll experience hole to hole is about as good as it gets. Make sure your camera is ready because you will definitely be using it if this is your first time golfing here.
Conclusion
In choosing the Cliffrose Lodge and Gardens as your Zion National Park hotel, you have at your fingertips an innumerable amount of activity choices. Try to make time for as many of them as possible!
